Legal Working Group

Function. The Legal WG handled the TEC’s legal strategy and risk — navigating the uncertain regulatory terrain around a token-issuing DAO, and advising the community on structure, compliance, and liability.

What it accomplished. It produced a manifesto and legal strategy, ran a legal audit of the organization, and maintained ongoing terms work (including the Proposal Terms and platform disclaimers). Its work underpinned decisions from the Hatch through the sunset, where legal considerations shaped how the treasury could be distributed.
